The Coffman band program consistently ranks as one of the best in the state, earning the highest large ensemble and individual honors. 10% of Coffman students participate in band and are also among the top-performing students in the school.
In 2013, the DCHS Marching Band was named a National Semi-Finalist at the BOA Grand National Finals at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana
In 2021 and ‘22, the DCMB was one of the top 3 scoring bands in Ohio (OMEA) 15 “Bands of America” Regional Finalist Awards since 2007
In 2017, the DCHS MB was 3rd Place in the Mid-States Championships Over the past 30 years the band has won 71 “Grand Champion” Awards in OMEA Events
Over the last 40 years, the band program has included:
Over 99 National Merit Commended and Semifinalist Scholars
Many Valedictorians and Salutatorians
Forbes 30 under 30 Entrepreneurs
Graduate currently touring with Harry Styles
2003, 2005, 2006, 2009, 2011, 2019, 2023 graduates with perfect ACT scores
Strong National Honor Society representation
Military academy appointments
Students admitted to medical schools
Members of the basketball and baseball teams, cheerleaders, robotics club members, Eagle Scouts, Homecoming Court Kings and Queens, and much more

Students in the Coffman band program are involved, enthusiastic, and proud!
